E2's Ethos: The Circle of Courage

At E2, we believe that the ‘Circle of Courage’ is relevant in understanding some of the factors in educating and empowering marginalised people. Our ethos relates to the Native American philosophy of the four factors they believed to be instrumental in the positive transition of ‘troubled youth into adulthood: Belonging, Mastery, Independence, and Generosity.

These values are very important when it comes to our charity and the work we do.

E2, formally known as the Cooke E-Learning Foundation, is a Leicester-based charity dedicated to empowering the Beaumont Leys community through education, support, and community action. Operating in one of the UK's most deprived areas, We offer a range of services including alternative education programs, youth activities, adult education, food projects, and an urban garden initiative. Our mission is to address local challenges and improve the lives of residents by providing accessible and inclusive opportunities for personal and community development.

Central to our approach is the 'Circle of Courage' ethos, a philosophy rooted in Native American traditions that emphasizes four key values: Belonging, Mastery, Independence, and Generosity. This framework guides our efforts to support and empower marginalised young people, adults and families through education and delivery of community services.

E2's commitment to these values is evident in our diverse programs and initiatives, all aimed at creating a supportive environment where individuals can thrive and contribute positively to their community.
