Reflecting on 2024
Written by Sandra Mosnegutu, 6th January 2025
What a Year It's Been!
As 2024 wraps up, we’re looking back on an incredible year full of growth, challenges, and positive change here at E2. We've worked hard to empower young people, reduce food waste, and bring our community closer together in Beaumont Leys.
Here’s a look at what we’ve achieved, what we’ve learned, and what’s coming in 2025!
What We've Achieved
Empowering Young People
This year, we’ve given young people more chances to lead, learn, and shine.
Positive Message Campaign: Young people led this initiative, creating inspiring public messages of hope and positivity across the community. They then voted for their favourite one. This positive message will be displayed on a bus advertisement from January - so keep an eye out!
Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme: Our school holiday sessions were bigger than ever, with fun activities, sports, workshops, and healthy meals for local young people.
Skills for the Future: New AIM-accredited courses in Esports, Catering, and Visual Arts opened up new career paths and boosted confidence in young people.

Going Greener Together
We’ve been working hard to make our community more sustainable and supportive.
Food Pantry: Our food pantry has helped hundreds of families by reducing waste and making sure good food doesn’t go unused.
Green Community Hub: Work has begun to transform this space into a centre for eco-workshops, a community garden, and skill-sharing events.
Learning and Growing
We’ve kept education at the heart of what we do.
Esports & Digital Skills: Our AIM Esports course taught strategy, teamwork, and digital skills – all while having fun!
Catering Courses: Hands-on cooking workshops gave people practical skills while learning about healthy eating.
Visual Arts: Creative workshops inspired local talent and gave people the space to express themselves.
What We Learned
It wasn’t all smooth sailing, but we’ve come out stronger.
Funding Hurdles: Managing complex grants wasn’t easy, but we’ve adapted and found new ways to secure support.
Better Governance: We’ve strengthened how we’re run behind the scenes, making sure we stay true to our mission.
Listening More: Community feedback has been key. We’ve made changes based on what you told us worked (and what didn’t!).

Looking Ahead to 2025!
We’re so excited for what’s next! Here’s what we’re planning:
Bigger Youth Projects: Our Young Voices, Big Impact project will give young people the tools and confidence to lead their own community projects.
More Eco-Workshops: The new Green Community Hub will offer workshops on gardening, upcycling, and sustainable living.
Stronger Partnerships: We’re teaming up with local businesses and groups to reach more people and create bigger opportunities.
Safe, Inclusive Spaces: We’ll keep making E2 a place where everyone feels welcome, supported, and able to thrive.
