Since the national lockdown in March our charity has been working closely with Beaumont Lodge Neighbourhood Association.
Our fantastic team of volunteers and De Montfort University students has worked tirelessly to help us meet the needs of local residents during the pandemic. We have:-
- prepared and distributed ready-meals for many families in our community,
- provided an emergency food parcel delivery service.
- visited many homes to identify people in need of our food parcels
- set up a telephone befriending service offering support and reassurance for isolated and vulnerable people, checking that they are safe and well.
By the end of October we had visited 7400 homes, prepared and delivered 8,697 emergency food parcels as well as cooking 12,600 meals.
Our aim was to help alleviate the stress and pressure of this unprecedented situation for the many vulnerable residents living in our area.
Everyone has been grateful to all funders and donors for their generous support for our much needed activities.
