ABIGAIL NORMINGTON

Abigail is a second-year student at De Montfort University studying youth work and has been volunteering with our charity since August helping with our Emergency Food Parcel Scheme. She has been using her car to deliver food parcels to the most vulnerable people in the community for several weeks now and enjoys meeting the same people and being able to build good relationships with them.

Abigail looks forward to continuing supporting people in the community after completing her degree and hopes to work in a school helping students that cannot function effectively in mainstream education.

She recommends volunteering as a way of gaining work experience that offers an opportunity to get out of your comfort zone and meet new people. Abigail also says that volunteering is a great way to build your CV, and she feels that committing your time to supporting the most vulnerable people during a pandemic gives you a great sense of satisfaction.
